EducationHi! My name is Melissa and I graduated with my master's degree from Brandeis in December. I'm searching for the right full-time job, and I have a lot of time to work with students while I do this.
At Brandeis, I studied conflict resolution and graduated with a 3.8 GPA. Before that I did two years of AmeriCorps service and got my bachelor's degree at the University of Pittsburgh.
I'm based in Sherborn, MA and am able to drive to meet clients. My specialties are Spanish, Italian, and English as a second language. I also enjoy teaching history and writing.
ExperienceI'm an experienced teacher and tutor, having taught my own classrooms when I served in AmeriCorps for two years. I developed my own curriculum, taught students at different levels, and worked one-on-one with struggling students.
-2 years of teaching adults English as a second language in AmeriCorps
-6 years of tutoring high school, college, and graduate level students, as well as adults
-95th percentile on the GRE verbal and written test
HobbiesTraveling is my favorite thing to do, and when I'm able, I love to explore new places! I studied abroad in South Africa when I was in college and it was amazing. I also love reading mysteries, watching Law and Order, having dinner with friends, and drawing and painting. I enjoy going to museums, movies, and any kind of festival.
